Advice for Track Runners: The Nike Unisex Rival Distance Track & Field Spikes are suitable for a range of middle-and long-distance track events.
Underfoot Feel
The main point to note is that there is added cushioning at the heel and midfoot. This provides underfoot comfort over longer distance events.
The spike plate holds four spikes. For the avoidance of doubt, the actual spikes can be replaced with spikes of different heights and/or material.
Upper Fit
An arch band secures the midfoot and provides support. The mesh is a single-layer, providing lightweight breathability.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Unisex Rival Distance Track & Field Spikes are suitable for a wide range of events such as:
- 400m;
- 10,000m;
- hurdles;
- long jump;
- triple jump
- pole vault; and
- some cross country*.
*Specific cross country spikes may be more suitable for some courses.
Important Sizing Note: When buying unisex Nike spikes please refer to the size guides and choose your size based on the EU sizing. The conversion for UK sizes 6 and below differs slightly from road or trail running shoes.
Note that spikes are designed to be snug and secure, limiting lateral movement while providing drive onto the running surface. They are manufactured quite small in comparison to road or trail running shoes. To ensure a secure fit and optimum performance, we recommend your spikes being at least a full size bigger than your regular shoe size.
